Founded in 1998, KBH On-Train Media is the UK’s largest on-train media company. They work with train operating companies (TOCs) to monetise their poster, digital and Wi-Fi media assets, delivering important incremental ‘non-farebox’ revenue, as well as installing TOC communication material such as safety information, network maps and marketing campaigns.
The Traincard advertising format reaches over seven million consumers every four weeks, with 65,000 panels installed in over 6,500 carriages. Traincards have the highest dwelltime of any out-of-home media and give brands an unrivalled opportunity to reach consumers during their journey, when they have time to absorb and act on advertising.
As a result, this traditional advertising format plays an effective role in influencing consumer behaviour, and also provides a powerful opportunity to connect out-of-home messaging with mobile brand platforms. To monetise the increasing consumer appetite for online connectivity on the move, in 2014 they formed sister company KBH Digital to work with TOCs to offer digital advertising opportunities via on-train Wi-Fi services and on-board entertainment portals.
